Not that anyone asked me my opinion, and I have not been an official resident of Los Angeles for years (approaching a decade).. BUT..
The LA Times reported today that Yvonne Brathwaite Burke, a powerful local politician representing the American Black population in Los Angeles, just endorsed Antonio Villaraigosa for the runoff mayoral election (she endorsed Hahn last time around in 2001).. This is a bad sign for Hahn. I was going for Villaraigosa last time, and again this time. This endorsement is proof that just because Bernard Parks (the former chief of police, a Black man, whom Hahn essentially fired) will not be in the runoff doesn't mean that Hahn will regain the Black support that helped him beat Villaraigosa in 2001.
In all honesty, I agree with Hahn's decision to fire Parks -- his criticisms are true -- Parks resisted attempts to establish any real idea of community policing or oversight. But I also want Villaraigosa to win, so if Black Angelenos' anger at Hahn puts him out of office (even though I think Bratton is an improvement over Parks), great. I believe that Burke's statements about Villaraigosa being able to bring the city together is true. Hahn is not his father -- I think Villaraigosa will be more sensitive to the needs of Black Angelenos.
